Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study: Church on the Move
Sunday Mornings 9:15-10:15 a.m. during the school year
The book of Acts tells the story of what happened after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. It is the account of how a small group of ordinary believers became a powerful movement that spread across cities, cultures, and continents. More than history, Acts shows us what the church looks like when it is alive, empowered, and on mission.
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave His followers a clear promise and purpose: they would receive power from the Holy Spirit and become His “witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Bible, NIV Acts 1:8). From that moment on, the church was set in motion.
Throughout Acts we see believers praying together, boldly sharing the gospel, caring for one another, and trusting God through persecution and uncertainty. This study, Church on the Move, invites us to step into that story. As we walk through Acts, we will see how the early church depended on the Holy Spirit, lived in authentic community, and courageously carried the message of Jesus to the world. The same Spirit who empowered the early believers still moves today, calling the church not to remain comfortable or stationary, but to be a people sent.
Acts reminds us that the church was never meant to sit still. It was meant to move.
All are welcome to this bible study held in the downstairs fellowship hall between the Sunday services. Come when you can.
