School Choice

Mount Calvary Lutheran School has again been approved to be part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) for the 2025-2026 school year. The WPCP allows students to attend Mount Calvary tuition-free if certain eligibility criteria are met (see below). Mount Calvary receives a state aid payment for each eligible student. That aid payment, or voucher, covers the entire cost of the eligible student’s tuition and other eligible school fees.

As a family with at least one child entering 4K, 5K, or 1st Grade for next school year, as a new family considering transferring your child to Mt. Calvary, or as a family who used the Choice program during the current school year, your family may qualify for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) for the 2025-2026 school year. If your child was in the Choice program for 2024-2025, you will need to enroll them again for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This program has been a blessing to many of our school families and our school. Therefore, we urge any eligible families to consider enrolling for the upcoming school year.

The following students are eligible to enroll in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program for 2025-2026:

  • Any students entering 4K or 5K for the 2025-2026 school year who live outside of the Milwaukee Public and Racine Unified School District
  • Any students entering 1st grade for the 2024-2025 school year who live outside of the Milwaukee Public and Racine Unified School District
  • Any new students to Mt. Calvary in any grade who are transferring into Mt. Calvary from a public school or who were homeschooled who live outside of the Milwaukee Public and Racine Unified School District
  • Any students who used the Choice program in past school years. Every family using the Choice program must enroll yearly, even if they qualified the previous year.

Application into the WCPC begins February 3, 2025, and must be completed by April 17, 2025. Please complete the online application as soon as you are able. This will also allow us to complete the verification process in a timely manner.

Questions?

Pastor Frick has graciously agreed to continue on as our WPCP administrator for the upcoming year as I continue to learn the program and work to take over responsibilities from him. Special Requirement for Wisconsin Parental Choice 4K Students

Since our 4K program received full accreditation status this past school year, Mt. Calvary is able to offer the Wisconsin Choice Program for 4K students for the first time during the 2025-2026 school year. We are excited about how this can help make our 4K program available tuition-free to any families who qualify based on income for the Choice program!

As part of receiving a tuition voucher for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, a school program must have a minimum number of scheduled hours of instruction. For a student to make use of the Choice program in 4K, they must have a minimum of 437 hours of instruction.

Due to this hours of instruction requirement, any 4K student making use of the Choice Program must attend school a minimum of 4 days per school week in order to meet the minimum number of hours. If you plan to enroll your child in the Choice Program for the 2025-2026 school year, please make plans with our preschool director to sign up your child to attend school 4 days per week. This requirement to attend 4 days of school per week does not apply to any 4K students who are not enrolled in the Choice program.
