Carey Stark

Mrs. Stark’s journey to Mount Calvary has been anything but traditional, and she wouldn’t have it any other way because she gained so much along the journey. She originally attended UW–Whitewater to become a teacher before changing paths and earning a degree in Science and Business, which led to a wonderful 10-year career as a Walmart Store Manager.

As her children have grown and pursued their own interests, she realized that her greatest joy has always been watching them learn, grow, and discover their God-given gifts. Through God’s gentle nudging—beginning with the very first WELS’ Connection scoping out interest in Martin Luther College’s APPLE program—she spent the past year balancing life as both a student and a store manager. Now, she is beyond excited to jump in with both feet and finally pursue the dream she’s had since I was young: teaching middle school science and math.

Mrs. Stark shares, “I am so thankful for the family, friends, mentors, and colleagues who have encouraged me, prayed for me, and believed in me along the way. God truly does bless the broken road, and I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Mount Calvary family. I can’t wait to see what He has in store for all of us!”
